Amberton University is accredited by the Commission of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award bachelor's and masters degrees. In addition, the university is recognized by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board and the U.S. Dept of Education as a licensed, degree-granting institution. The curriculum for the Master of Arts degree in Professional Counseling meets the academic requirements for licensing as a professional counselor in Texas. The Master of Arts degree in School Counseling satisfies the academic and certification requirements for the School Counseling Certification as established by the Texas State Board of Educator Certification.
