CAMPUS SUMMARY
Founded in 1906, Georgia Southwestern State University is a growing public institution providing a residential, liberal arts educational experience to more than 2,700 students. GSW offers over 40 undergraduate majors, concentrations and pre-professional programs, and 10 graduate programs.
The beautiful residential campus is near the heart of historic Americus, Ga., including walking trails and a spring-fed lake. With more than 70 student organizations, NCAA Divsion II athletic teams, an Honors program, and a variety of campus life activities, GSW attracts students from around the world. Distinguished alumni include former U.S. President Jimmy Carter, former first lady Rosalynn Carter, and former U.S. Attorney General Griffin Bell. The University is home to the Rosalynn Carter Institute for Caregiving and other unique programs offering students excellent opportunities to hone their leadership skills while earning their education.
